On March 11, 1881 the first church council was elected and installed. They met in the Union School House until late summer of 1881, when it was decided to construct a 35’ X 55’ brick structure. Both the Shiloh Evangelical Lutheran and Evangelical Reformed Churches met there. On April 16, 1887 the courts of York County granted charters to both congregations. In January 1916 it was decided to add additions to both the east and west side of the church, with an additional extension to the north end of the church. This was completed and rededicated in May of 1917.

In 1954 the Evangelical Reformed Church sold their share of the property to Shiloh Lutheran and moved to a new location in Shiloh. In July of 1956 the Rev. Robert E. Nale became the first full time pastor of Shiloh Lutheran. The house at 2440 Carlisle Road became the parsonage.

The Education Building and Parish Hall was constructed and was dedicated in October of 1962. The whole interior of the church was renovated and completed in March of 1980. A new organ was also purchased at that time.

It is apparent that our forefathers gave us a firm foundation of religious beliefs and strong moral fiber. Shiloh Lutheran is constantly upgrading and improving our church and educational buildings to stay current with our ever changing world.
